In the midst of gentrification and the arrival of mega corporations and chains, it's refreshing to find local small business and restaurants in Brooklyn with a neighborhood feel. One of Brooklyn's top black-owned restaurants, the space gets its name from the owner's love of the "sweet science" aka boxing. This neighborhood gem located on the corner of Graham and Johnson Ave, serves modern twists on classic comfort brunch dishes like shrimp and grits, chicken and waffles and the steak and eggs, better known as The Biggie Breakfast, an ode to Brooklyn's own hip hop legend ( T-bone steak, hanger steak, cheese eggs, and a Welch’s grape juice champagne mimosa anyone?).

Sweet Science also serves lunch and dinner and even has a...wait for it...a late night menu! Vegetarians rejoice! The restaurant also has options for you too like the black bean burger. Cocktail lovers can appreciate the elevated drink menu with innovative cocktails and craft beers. No matter the time of day, this corner neighborhood gem is the perfect spot to clink glasses and fellowship over delicious food the Brooklyn way.
